Dear Catalyst,
It is with great sadness that I announce the dissolution of the guild.
Over the years as GM, I came across many people who started off as
guildies who have become what I consider genuine friends. It is these
relationships that make the guild so special. Catalyst exists because
of the camaraderie we develop and using our combined skills to do what
it is we choose to accomplish night in and night out.
Catalyst is not just a guild to me. Raesa, Runic, the guild's officer
core, and myself have dedicated the past three and a half years of our
lives to the success of the guild. Throughout the years, I have truly
considered Catalyst my home. I've watched the kids (Taihaku,
Barralai, and Ezulei) grow from their awkward teenage phases to
soon-to-be college attendees and college graduates. I've seen guildies
get married and have a kid (Arcturia, Mindgames, Impyre, and Mongroid
to name a few.)
It is time for us to move on as well. The guild founders have reached
a point in our lives where our dedication to the game isn't where it
used to be. To continue with the guild where we may not put our best
foot forward would only soil the name of Catalyst and what it
represents.
Any decent GM who cares about their guild will tell you it is a lot of
work. I am thankful enough to say that I had an amazing supporting
cast. I would like to thank:
Kyle (Vaire/Celebrian) for sticking it out with us since day one. I
hope being around us has made you less pessimistic.
Steve (Bilindra/Madrakia) - the senior member. You know, you don't
play that bad for an old guy. If I ever get in trouble with the law,
I'll come to you for help.
Pete (Scarto) for being so helpful in leading and being a great
friend. You live close enough so we can grab a drink whenever.
Katie (Ezulei) for your help and assistance in facilitating the needs
of the guild.
And to all Catalyst members, old and new, thank you all for making it
a privilege to be the GM of Catalyst.
I wish you all the best in all your future endeavors, inside the world
of Azeroth and out. And for the last time: "Going in after my Gift
of Naaru."
-Sho (Gaar)
